Bringing the Marvel of Marble Mountain to the Koi Resort and Residence Da Nang
At TheeAe Architects, we’ve embarked on a journey to redefine the essence of lobby design for the Koi Resort and Residence in Da Nang. Our latest creation draws its breath from the natural splendor of the local landscape, specifically the awe-inspiring Marble Mountain, a stone’s throw away from the resort.
In our design, we’ve unveiled a concept we affectionately call CAVaTURE—a harmonious blend of cavernous wonder met with the sleek lines of modern curvature. This approach isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about invoking a profound connection between nature and architectural innovation.
Light is a fundamental aspect of our design philosophy. We aim to harness its transformative qualities to create spaces that resonate deeply with those who experience them. In the Koi Resort’s lobby, we’ve integrated natural light to evoke a range of emotions—serenity, warmth, stability, and an underlying sense of excitement. This intentional play of light fosters an element of surprise, drawing visitors into a harmonious blend of architecture and nature, where each moment feels immersive and alive.
The proximity to Marble Mountain offered us a unique narrative thread. We sought to mirror the mountain’s essence, to bring its majestic, natural beauty indoors. Through meticulous material selection, we’ve achieved this harmony. Light, seeping through every crevice, reflects off surfaces in the lobby, reminiscent of sunlight illuminating the depths of a cavern. Our choice of white paint and stretched ceiling lights mimic this interplay of light and shadow, while dark granite stone and bronze metal accents pay homage to the rugged, enduring spirit of the cave walls.
This synthesis of elements—light and stone, nature and architecture—creates more than just a mood. It’s an experience, an echo of Marble Mountain’s timeless allure, tailored into the very fabric of the Koi Resort and Residence’s main lobby.
